The Unique Needs and Status of Professional Development for K-12 Online Teachers


Call for Survey Participation

Greetings,

In partnership with leading agencies in K-12 online education, we are seeking the expertise K-12 online teachers to participate in a national follow-up survey to understand more about their preparation for online teaching. K-12 online teachers are defined as those teaching 80% or more of a given course online.

If you are not a k-12 online teacher, we appreciate your assistance in sharing this invitation with K-12 online teachers in your organization or program.

Upon request, we will provide a free customized report for schools with 10 or more participating teachers.

Background

In spring 2007, we published “Going Virtual!: The Status of Professional Development for K12 Online Teachers” from the results of a national survey to gather baseline data identifying practices, models, and contexts related to the professional development of K12 online teachers.

In fall 2008, we published “Going Virtual! Unique Needs and Challenges of K-12 Online Teachers” where we reported on data gathered from teachers about their professional development experiences.
