EDTECH ePortfolio

Master of Educational Technology ePortfolio

This is a generic template showing the major elements of the M.E.T. ePortfolio. You may structure yours any way you wish as long as the major requirements are met.

The ePorfolio website includes:

  • Home page: Introduce yourself and explain the purpose of the website.
  • Artifacts page: Include a table of the AECT standards with links to each artifact.
  • Rationale paper page: A written rationale for the collection of artifacts.
  • Reflection video page: Embed a video with your reflection story.

Why an ePortfolio?

There are many reasons for maintaining a professional portfolio:

  1. Document professional growth and personal learning
  2. Demonstrate attainment of skills and knowledge
  3. Collect a sample of high quality work to show employers, peers, students, parents, or community members

Candidates in the Master of Educational Technology (M.E.T.) program create a portfolio as a culminating activity. A portfolio is an authentic form of assessment.

Appearance Matters

Make sure that your site looks nice. I used a free CSS template for this site. There are many online. Just Google"free CSS template".

Use spell check (Commands menu in Dreamweaver) and test all links to make sure they work.

What Goes on the Home Page?

The home page is a great place to talk about yourself. Tell us your name, where you work, and something of interest that you would like to share. A picture of yourself is a good thing to include.

Do explain the purpose of the website on the home page. This is your showcase of artifacts created while completing the M.E.T. program.

Linking

Open links in the same browser window when navigation is available on both source and destination pages. Use the "target" attribute in links to external websites or artifacts that do not have navigation back to your ePortfolio. This will open them in a new page.
