- Jing: This is an affordable screen recording software that is cross platform. The pro version allows you to produce a YouTube friendly video clip and it is very inexpensive.
Windows Users:
- Camtasia Studio: This has a PowerPoint recording tool that works as a type of screen recording and also records audio narrations simultaneously. Camtasia Studio Tutorials: Learn how to use Camtasia.
- SnagIt: Check the capture profiles for the Video Capture Profile. Use Narrate a Screen Recording to record your PowerPoint presentation as you click through it. SnagIt is less expensive than Camtasia, but it is also a bit less sophisticated. SnagIt Video Capture Tutorials: Learn how to make a video recording of the computer screen.

Mac Users:
- iShowU: Screen recording software for Mac.
- SnapZProX: Shift-Apple-3 opens the Capture Options window. Select the Movie option and make sure the microphone track is checked. Drag the recording area around your PowerPoint presentation to record it as you click through and narrate it. Check the manual that comes with the software for additional information. The manual is inside the Snapz Pro X folder inside your Applications folder after the software has been installed.
- ScreenFlow: Screen recording, editing, screencasting.
- Keynote: This is part of the iWorks suite of software. It works much like PowerPoint. However, it will allow you to record presentations with audio narration and save them as QuickTime movies.
