The Department of Educational Technology is pleased to announce openings for full-time and part-time Graduate Assistantships for the 2010-11 academic year, August 2010 to May 2011. EDTECH graduate assistantships provide an excellent opportunity to:
Full time GAs work 20 hours per week, take 9 credits (3 classes), a recieve full-tuition waiver for three classes each semester, and a $10,000 stipend paid out over two semesters. Students who are employed full-time by other organizations should not apply for a full-time GA. The number of hours per week required for your job (40), plus the GA (20), plus your coursework (27 min), make it unrealistic to work full-time as a GA.
Limited opportunities are sometimes available as a part-time GA working only one semester per year. Graduate assistants must be fully admitted into the EDTECH degree program in order to apply, and must meet any other requirements as set forth by the Graduate College. Incomplete applicants cannot be considered. Priority is given to currently enrolled students. We hire both local and distance-based GAs. The GA application deadline is Feb 1, 2010. The application form is available on the web: http://www.boisestate.edu/gradcoll/forms/form_grad_assistantship26.pdf Please include a short introduction indicating: 1) how many hours a week you can work (20=full-time, 10=part-time) Return the form to: For more information about EDTECH graduate assistantships, email kathieblakeslee@boisestate.edu Graduate Residential Scholars Program Graduate Residential Scholars Program participants (GRSP) receive free housing for one or two years in an on-campus residential community of graduate students representing diverse backgrounds and disciplinary interests. To be eligible for a GRSP position an individual must also secure a graduate assistantship (e.g., teaching assistantship, research assistantship) from his/her graduate program that includes a stipend (at least $10,000 per academic year) and full waiver of tuition and fees. Stipends from non-departmental sources (e.g., government fellowships) also are suitable. Twenty GRSP positions are available, with approximately 10 new positions opening up each fall. Interested students should submit a completed GRSP Application Form. Questions may be directed to Dr. Alfred Dufty, Associate Dean of the Graduate College, Boise State University, Boise, ID, 83725. Email: adufty@boisestate.edu, telephone: 208-426-3647. Selection of GRSP award recipients begins on February 1 with notification in late February. Note that this date may differ from the application deadline for the graduate program to which the student is applying. Students interested in the GRSP are encouraged to check with their program coordinator to ensure that their application material is considered by the graduate program prior to the February 1 GRSP deadline. |
