All students submit their Application for Admission to Candidacy and Application for Graduate Degree when they have completed 18 units. See deadlines for Graduate and Certificate Students!

Thesis (M.S. only)

A thesis is one option for students in the Master of Science in Education program. A thesis is the only option for students pursuing the current Master of Science in Educational Technology degree.

Students are required to get advisor permission, write and defend a full proposal, in order to register for thesis credits. Recommended only for strong writers.

Writing a Thesis

If you are considering or required to write a thesis for your degree, this section provides basic information that guides you through the process of writing and defending your thesis proposal. The proposal is written and defended the semester prior to enrolling in thesis units. You should review this information early in your degree program so you are able to complete your program by your planned deadline.
