Instructions to earn two certificates with M.E.T.

    1) Apply for the M.E.T. program aligned with one certificate program, which indicates you  have applied for two graduate programs.  Boise State policy states that a student can be enrolled in no more than two programs at once.

    2) Prepare your ePDF (program development form) to earn your first certificate first. (For example, plan to take EdTech 502, 541 and 542 as close to the start of your program as possible for the Technology Integration certificate).  This allows you to earn your first certificate before your master’s degree.  Contact your admissions adviser for help in planning if needed.

    3) Submit the Proposed Plan of Study form for your first certificate program as soon as you    have been accepted into that program.

    4) You may apply for graduation from the certificate program during the timeframe published in the Academic Calendar for the term you wish to graduate. You will finish the coursework for the first certificate during the term for which you have applied for graduation.

    5) Apply for your second certificate program.  You will need to create a new account for this new application, just use a different username than you used with your first application, and there will be another application fee of $45.00. The second certificate program classes should be planned after the first certificate program classes on your ePDF (program plan).

    6) Submit the Proposed Plan of Study form for your second certificate program as soon as you have been accepted into that program.

    7) You may apply for graduation from the second certificate program during the timeframe published in the Academic Calendar for the term you wish to graduate. You will finish the coursework for the second certificate during the term for which you have applied for graduation.

    8) Submit your AAC form for your master’s degree after you have completed 18 credits.     List all classes taken and those you will take to earn your master’s degree.

    9) You may apply for graduation from your master’s program during the timeframe published in the Academic Calendar for the term you wish to graduate. You will finish the coursework for the degree certificate during the term for which you have applied for graduation.

    10) Now you have earned your masters and two certificates within the 11 required courses.

Note: (You must apply for graduation 3 separate times for 3 programs.)

    11) Be aware that, due to the total number of courses involved, that two certificates requiring more than 5 electives cannot be accomplished within a MET program, but earning the two certificates is still possible. Proper scheduling of the courses is still critical.
